Self management is what people really mean when they say time management. How we spend our time is really all about the decisions we make – to hit or not to hit the snooze button for example. While sticky notes remain a popular option to set reminders for ourselves (they are all over my desk), there are a few popular web 2.0 tools that can help with self management. I just wanted to highlight a few of the ones I have come across that seem very useful. You can watch a video that explains each program and decide for yourself which one (if any) you think you would like to use. Some students have found these helpful in managing their busy schedules and so have I.
Nozbe
Nozbe is a very popular Web 2.0 tool for task, project, and time management. This is a web-based application you can use to organize and prioritize tasks, activities, etc. Unfortunately, it is not free, but it comes with a ton of features that help you manage everything.

VITALIST
Vitalist is another GTD (getting things done) application with many cool features. Unlike Nozbe, there is a free account that offers unlimited actions and 5 contexts and projects. Contexts are nothing more than the general categories you use to organize the type of projects you want to complete. For example, one context might be School and under that context you can have 5 projects (e.g. finish paper, study for test, etc.) The more advanced features like offline access, sharing, and email support requires a small fee per month.

REMEMBER THE MILK
Remember the milk has similar features to most of the other GTD web-based apps. This one is also free but to get more features you have to pay for the pro version. However, the pro version is pretty cheap at only $25 a year (at the time of this post). Check it out by clicking the button below.
